PROJECT
FINISHED
Tamara Benavides from Sweden supported the work of the Kinder- und Jugendkulturwerkstatt in Leipzig for 11 months. She assisted the regular workers carrying through workshops and projects in the cultural field with local youths from 3-21years of age and overtook more and more own responsibilities and carried through her own events. On top, she actively accompanied a German-Italian-Israeli youth exchange. By doing so, Ms Benavides reflected upon her own geographical and cultural heritage and further developed her abilities in didactic and communication. She got to know actors of local and international youth work and experienced their work on a practical level.
At the same time, the workers and visitors of the Kinder- und Jugendkulturwerkstatt and their friends and families profit from the presence of a young swedish woman, who brought a new perspective into the daily and special activities of the Kinder- und Jugendkulturwerkstatt.
The workers of the Kinder- und Jugendkulturwerkstatt were always at Ms Benavides side and accompanied her in the respective creative area. The activities of the volunteer were regularly discussed, reflected upon and focussed anew according to her interests.
Ms Benavides gained through the project varied knowledge and abilities in the area of cultural paedagogy, project management and local and international networks.
