There is a noticeable tendency in the job markets of both Lithuania and the EU that there is a constantly increasing demand for qualified computer graphics and computer office equipment operator specialists. Taking these needs and tendencies into account Lithuanian vocational schools have decided to contribute to increasing the number of qualified IT specialists by allowing its students in computer graphics and computer equipment operator to gain theoretical and practical skills abroad. The main goal of the project is to allow students in computer graphics and computer office equipment operator at vocational schools to gain practical skills and improve theoretical knowledge at the EU firms and to let the teachers themselves gain new skills in teaching and learning and the organization of it.Participants in the project:- 18 computer graphics students and computer office equipment operator of the last year (6 from each school). These students will be seniors during the project and will have passed all of the theoretical courses and ready to gain experience in using this knowledge. - 6 teachers of computer graphics and computer office equipment operator (2 from each school). The need for the teachers to participate in the project is based on the lack of their practical preparation. They studied and increased their qualifications only in Lithuania and only through theoretical courses while trends in the graphical design are changing rapidly in the world with new software programmes appearing too rapidly to allow the vocational school to buy them.There will be two activities during the project – Vocational training students' practice in firms abroad and job shadowing. The students will visit Czech and Spain to have 3 weeks’ practice in enterprises – one in October, 2016 and another one in April, 2017. Students will have the practice of 120 hours, which is included in the general period of their practice. They will work in enterprises 5 days a week, 8 hours each day.The aim of students’ visits is to allow the students to gain new professional skills, practical experience of work organization, to develop their communication competence and improve English skills. The project will be a perfect opportunity for the students to have a part of their practice in foreign enterprises. It will broaden their horizons in a professional area and give competences important to consolidate the studying results and make a career in the future.The aim of profession teachers’ visit is to gain new professional competences in the area of organizing teaching and learning process while job shadowing. They will have an opportunity to observe the teaching of IT specialists at the vocational centers in Spain during one week spent there. Also, they will familiarize themselves with the teaching materials, available tools and assessment methods. The teachers have improved their skills only in Lithuania so far and therefore there is a need for them to experience different settings and different methods abroad.There will a project management team established at the applicant’s organization which will be confirmed by the principal. It will include the project manager, the project coordinator, an English teacher, accountant, the head of computer department, a teacher of profession.The project manageris going to lead the project work group. She will store all the documents of the project and initiate the necessary assignments of the work group. The expected results: - 15 mobility visits to Spain, 9 Mobility visits to the Czech Republic, methodical teacher group meetings of all consortium members. In these meetings, the training centre’s methodical experience of IT professionals will be presented and suggestions provided for improving the training program.The impact anticipated and long-term benefit:-The participation will provide the students with the possibility to assess their professional knowledge and will enable them to supplement it with new competences. During the project participants will develop their general competences such as creativity, diligence, responsibility as well. In addition, they are going to improve their communication in the English language. The new competences and skills obtained will be important when integrating into Lithuanian job market and becoming a competent young employee. -For teachers of profession the participation in the project will help gain new professional skills in the area of organizing the teaching and learning process. They will be able to compare their work experience with the one of their colleagues and, most importantly, the newly gained competences will enable them to improve the programme of photographers’ training. -Participation in the project will help the school to make new contacts with vocational training centres and successfully functioning enterprises throughout Europe. A successful partnership may result in new projects or even the development of strategic partnerships.
