Financial and economic crisis which is hitting Europe since 2008 has left extremely negative consequences on the European youth. According to EU Youth Report 2015, in spite of higher levels of education among the youth, they find it increasingly difficult to find employment and when they do they are often job for which they are overqualified. At the same time the youth poverty level in Europe are rising, which leads many young people to withdraw from social, cultural and political life of their communities. The mission of the project is to help improve the position of the youth and contribute to reversing these negative trends, while at the same time informing the youth about European problems and how they can contribute to resolving them. Exploring culture and society through sport project uses sport, a topic very popular among the youth, to investigate issues of inequality, discrimination, human rights and social inclusiveness in their countries. Special emphasis has been put on the ways of using sport and recreation to resolve or minimize some of these problems. The goal is to encourage young people to actively participate in solving problems of their communities and to improve the quality of youth work within their organizations.Project results include more active youth participation, greater awareness of European problems among the youth, youth which are at the forefront of improving the quality of youthwork in their organizations and the youth with positive attitudes towards learning new skills and intercultural dialogue.Time of the youth exchange: 2/7/2016-9/7/2016.
