In our youth exchange project, "Is there anyone here?", there will be 8 young European people including group leaders from Italy, Bulgaria, Holland and Lithuania, and 9 young people from Turkey, including group leaders, totally 41 participants. The project will take place in Giresun, Eynesil district between the dates 10-22 June 2016. During 13 days of project, our project will ensure a deep understanding of immigration and refugee issues. And by bringing together different perspectives it will also provide platform to discuss problems of refugees and seek answers for why these refugees immigrate and how their living conditions are? First we will start with immigration types, factors that force people to immigrate and different countries’ policies about immigration and refugees. Then we will start to cover Turkey’s attitude on that issue. Especially Syrian refugees and their problems are current issues that Turkey need to handle. So we start to evaluate these refugees living conditions in Turkey and partner countries. This current issue will be discussed in a common platform that blend ideas and it will be inevitable to new ideas to come up. And by developing empathy participants get rid of their biases towards those people and build understanding towards their emotions and thoughts. Those people are forced to immigrate and there are too many of them from different ages so our project will also comprise from people of different ages. It is also important to have gender balance to understand both genders ideas and feelings. To make our activities effective we ensure equal right to speak all participants with interactive learning methods. Some activities will make participant to head towards interiority and questionize what they know before. These kind of activities will be heavily based on art and culture. Others such as presentations, simulations, meetings etc. will trigger idea and knowledge transactions between participants.Through this project people from different cultures will focus on same subject with empathic point of view and solutions that are generated will also be adopted and applied easily. After that participants thoughts about people who immigrate hopefully will change and they gain new perspectives. We also make sure that result of our project will be pervaded through social media and press to local environment and internationally. During and after project we also provide evaluation tools to know whether these activities attains its aims. All participants will participate in all activities actively. Besides these, there will be some social activities including swimming day, cultural nights and promoting Erasmus+ programs and so on. There will be two evaluation sessions each day to evaluate the daily activities in order to promote democratic rights of the citizens. The project, also, allows every group to introduce their culture to other groups, emphasizes broadmindedness of youngs, socialization and caring other participants’ ideas, and also allows getting information about other countries.
