Project „Involvement LAB - way to engage!“ was a training course for youth workers, coaches, animators and young people who want to gain experience in good practices of conducting international youth exchange program within Erasmus +. Project was held in mountain resort in Poronin / close to Zakopane from November 6 to 13, 2015. This training was indented to everyone who already had run or has an intention to conduct international youth projects. The basic observation which was the purpose of this project was the fact that the leaders working with project groups from different NGOs are able to raise the level of quality of youth exchanges by finding suitable models to motivate young people to participate actively in design programs and to continue helping them to gain new skills and knowledge within project designed in proper manner. The main idea of the training was to create a laboratory of competences. We enabled participants to find proper forms to let youngsters maintain motivation and we achieved the goal by creating working model where the leader is not a teacher or supervisor but plays a leading role as facilitator - equipped with a variety of methods of activating youth.
During 8 days of workshops we discussed the issues of building youth projects, risk prevention, building a friendly environment and motivation methods. The primary purpose of this training was to improve the quality of youth exchanges organized by non-governmental organizations from the program countries of Erasmus +. We achieved it by examining best practices in this field, by gathering methods and recommendations in the form of publication and finally maintain knowledge in this field by “real cases” from the field. The project used various methods of non-formal education in conjunction with a formal approach. Final measurable result of this project was a publication, film - reportage from the project and 8 NFL methods accompanied with 8 ideas of international youth project featuring different topics. We conducted a lot of dissemination activities, including local actions (follow-ups). Project was very successful – what has been proven by participants’ opinions given in evaluation forms.
