Interregional Multidiciplinary Reseachers' Night Researchers and Citizens in Interaction Share Brains 2 (Share Brains 2)

This proposal continues the succesful work in promoting researchers interaction with the citizens in Southeast Finland in three cities and adds another city and the region to the consortium. (Kouvola, Lappeenranta, Lahti and Kotka (new). This proposal also inroduces a new coordinator of the consortium. The focus is on multidisciplinary research combining technology, design and commercialisation. The leading concept idea is shared brains and knowledge transfer. The official consortium consists of three universities that combine higher education and research institutions of their regions into common work to meet objectives of the Researchers Night.The regions will plan their activities according the regions' special features. European visibility and consortium's focal points are to be taken into action planning. Event will consist of several types of activities: interaction with citizens in shopping center,s in campuses, schools.etc. The event is to reach all age groups. Young people are our special intrerest. The awareness campaign will use tarditional medias (tv, radio press, posters, internet, printed materials etc , but social medias as well. Presentations, European Union stand, competitions, workshops, childrens' happenings, science cafes, open academic libraries, films, studia generalis, poster exhibitions and cultural happenings etc are the tools in meeting citizens. Events take place among people in public places as well as in campuses. Results will be analysed thoroughly with the data of recent years to keep contact figures high and improve. The length of the activities is 7 months. The value of the project is EUR 165.153 and the requested EC contribution EUR 115.153.
