We started our English lessons in 2014 for all groups. Each group has cumulative 45-240 minutes per week in their timetable for English in the period 2015-2019During the lessons the speaking language is English. (CLIL) In the lower grades it is mainly communication and understanding of English. We use different pedagogic methods, mainly interactive with the children. From the 5th grade we also learn to write and speak the language. Children in the 7th and 8th grade use a (language) portfolio; And will be test on the ERK A1 level.All teachers know how to use English sources to prepare their lessons. The English methods are subordinate to CLIL.During the next two years 10 of our teachers will be going to Canterbury for the level 1 course and 3teachers will be attending the level 2 course. During this course we learned how to use a variety of pedagogic methods to use in the classroom.The subject of English is submitted in our policy document. In the past few years our teachers have also been attending several different workshops and conferences. In the next few years CLIL education will be introduced at our school. The need to attend a course in Canterbury for this type of specific education is high.In June 2014 a cooperation with secondary education (highschool) started; English teachers teach grammar lessons to 8th grade pupils.Goal is to reach a continuous development from primary school to secondary education.
