International Cooperation Forum for University Students
Start date: May 1, 2015,

PROJECT
FINISHED
The main objectives of this youth project was non-formal education. The event aimed to promote critical thinking when it comes to European matters and foster cooperation between university students around Europe. The last European Parliament elections showed a low voter turnout, when it comes to young adults - therefore there was a need to carry out this event and promote discussion about politics, which lead to raising awareness of European matters, stronger involvement on a local level and promotion of intercultural dialogue.
European Youth Parliament's network is organising around 350 events per year, only few of them are fully dedicated to university students. MTÜ Tegusad Eesti Noored (TEN) has been active in youth events in Estonia and even though few university student events have been conducted before, this was the biggest and most international event TEN has organised for this target group and also in the whole Baltic States.
Through this project the participants discussed current European issues and came up with solutions. The event included experts to help the participants understand their topic better and after the Main Event four discussion evening were held, where topics are also debated with experts and current decision-makers. We also aim to include many embassies to this project and tackle the problems their nations are currently facing. The main goal was to show our young participants and current politicians that young people are interested in politics and have opinions and solutions to current European issues. The main event gathered 82 participants from 14 different countries and the national events, including discussion evenings gathered over 132 participants.
