The International Circus Games Exchange took place in Leuven, Belgium from 3/05/2015 - 7/12/2015 and was hosted by Cirkus In Beweging. 14 different organisations from 10 partner countries each sent 3 participants to take part in the project which ran for 4 days (3 full days and 2 half days).
Each of the participants were "Game Experts" and came prepared with games unique to their own countries and organisations.
The program schedule was divided up into sections with each section focusing on a different category and game type.
The sessions were typically divided into 2 structures, sessions taught by a specialist with specific experience in a field, and sessions with an "open forum" structure.
In the open forum sessions, all participants had the opportunity to teach the rest of the group a game, explain when they use the game, why they use the game and what purposes the game can serve during circus classes and group bonding sessions. Each participant also had the opportunity to offer variations and give input into other games.
The games exchange was focused on the exchange of knowledge for pedagogical purposes. All participants were youth workers sent by their organisations with the goal to gather games, teaching methods and techniques and any other information which could benefit their connection with their students, their professional capacity, and their organisations.
A large focus was directed towards forming new connections and strengthening existing connections between the participants both on an professional and personal level and also relationships between partner organisations.
