International Circus and Acrobatic Art Workshop
Start date: Mar 1, 2016, End date: Dec 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Young people of Polish, Finland, Spain and Germany will meet sowing Poznan on 2-week circus and acrobatic workshops. This will be an extraordinary meeting, because it engages professional acrobats and circus performers and persons with restrictions of movement (people blind and disabled) will work together on the show, which will be shown at the end of the workshop in one of the theaters in Poznan. The event is inspired by the problem of exclusion of people with limited physical and motor abilities from the participation in social life, in particular from active participation in sports, gymnastics and artistic events. For people with intellectual or physical disability the performance of acrobatic exercises on a trampoline is a proof that one can overcome difficulties in spite of all adversities. Similarly, for blind people and people with poor sight walking on a rope will be like overcoming the impossible. Acrobatic exercises offer an excellent opportunity for fun and recreation. It is a chance to meet new people and become open to new environment. Contacts with people of the same age from different countries, having fun and exercising together and, finally, performing before a public audience are an excellent way to improve the self-esteem of disabled people.
