Internacional internships - A bridge to employability

The Project "International Internships- a bridge to employability" is minted for 34 students, defined by EPM, from the municipality of Montijo, from the 11th and 12th grade of high school and level IV of vocational school aged between 16 and 20 years of age.The perspectives in terms of training go essentially, besides personal and social aspects (behavior and attitudes), towards the deepening of its technical and technological knowledge, as well as to support and strengthen the skills of sectoral consolidation process in the following areas: Catering (Cooking/Pastry and Waiter/Bar), Management Technician of informatics Equipment and Tourism. This group has specific technical training that requires expertise in the development of work making the experience in a real work environment such an important key element for their integration into the labor market. The internships of the participants will take place in Spain-Valencia for the Catering; United Kingdom-Plymouth for informatics and in Italy for Tourism in companies of informatics, restaurants, pastries, and tourism agencies for a period of 3 weeks this period is considered to be enough for the participants to get acquaintance with the working place, the assigned tasks as well as with the linguistic and cultural differences. Some of the main features that will be always present during the internships taken into consideration are the improvement of the employability level, promotion of self-confidence, increase autonomy and responsibility, team work, diversification of learning techniques in a labor context, widen pedagogical and educational horizons of the students and of the schools itself, as well as the recognition and certification of competences acquired in a transnational context. This project is also meant for a group of 6 elements of the AFPDM Staff, looking to give an answer for the school necessities, namely regarding to its internationalization, in developing actions that will allow to acquire competences manly focused in and to the trainees, and in developing actions manly focused to the teaching a and general staff. This group is composed by the Director of the school, pedagogical director, pedagogical coordinator of the office of continuous training, coordinator of the Quality Management System, the person in charge from the Professional and School guidance and for the Coordinator of the Qualification and Vocational Education Center (CQEP). By promoting and allowing for these six elements with different responsibilities, to share their knowledge and good practices, to get in touch with a different European reality like the Croatian scholar system, the country their culture and tradition, as well as the opportunity to improve their linguistic skills, will make all the difference regarding their professional development and in their capacity to overcome inner procedures regarding this matter. In this job shadowing the working plan to contemplate class observations, working methods, teaching materials used, observation of the quality team and sharing the experience of its E-quality projects, strategies to reduce early school leaving, as well as study visits and other meetings in order to know the educational and training system in Croatia. The still expected results regarding the staff are: the development of personal, interpersonal and linguistic skills to strengthen the European dimension in an individual and collective level; Promoting feelings of belonging to a common culture, to an European culture, based on the values of democracy, participation, respect, tolerance and equality; Development of professional skills by the opportunity to meet different educational practices; Skills development in ICT; Acquire a better understanding of various education and training systems as well as working methods; Reformulate the procedure and learning teaching methodologies regarding the success the our students; Implementation of evaluation practices articulated with EQAVET frame and monitoring of its results; Identification of continuous improvement actions to senior management level, pedagogical and document management.With this project, all partners involved, expect to keep their efforts in offering a wider range of offers in vocational training, by strengthening the links between training contexts and work contexts and continuing the dissemination process of alternative practices promotion of employability of young people. We still believe that through the dissemination of good practices in mobility it is possible to change mentalities and to contribute to the greater objectives of the European Union regarding mobility, education and working policies.
