Interkulturelle Weiterentwicklung der Schule durch internationales Projektmanagement
Start date: Jul 1, 2016, End date: Jun 30, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our school faces growing challenges due to the current changes in the educational system, as well as the opening of more and more so-called "Willkommensklassen" - these are special classes established to teach the growing number of refugees These require a thorough study / knowledge of the other cultures, both the students and the staff of teachers with the aim of mutual respect and integration into school life and society.Furthermore - due to the constantly changing requirements of the international labour market - there is the need to account for these (requirements) in everyday teaching and thus prepare the student body appropriately for their professional life.By means of a better interconnection within the European region could aim at an enlargement / expansion of previous internships and projects beyond a national level right up to a European dimension.Being confronted with this need of further development the school administration could win colleagues for the establishment of an Erasmus workgroup.Their main task will be to be available for their colleagues as multipliers for the implementation of European projects and the development of intercultural skills. The members / participants of the workgroup are made up of various school departments and thus represent a cross-section of the staff of teachers. This is to ensure that the results and ideas of the working group are recognized by the entire staff. The working group members are distinguished, just like the college, through an open and tolerant view of the world, which is so far unfortunately marked by little experience in the organization and implementation of projects at European level. The existing ignorance resentments regarding the organisational expenses and the presumed obstacles should be eliminated by the training experience of the members of the working group. The acquisition of these skills will be based on the participation in intercultural and project management training courses. Furthermore, the participants expect expanding European contacts during the seminar by increasing the chances of meeting potential European project partners in order to shape future student exchange programs and internships in the European framework. To set up the experiences and skills of the working group as widely as possible the members will visit various seminars with different workshops. The results are evaluated in the working group in the presence of the Executive Board and afterwards presented to the colleagues in order to be able to motivate them for the implementation of other European projects - as the need to expand the cross-cultural, linguistic and social skills of pupils is undisputed. In their function as multipliers, the participants of the working group hope to win more members of the college for the organization and implementation of European projects in order to make such projects an integral part of their everyday school life.Intensifying the personal experiences in the course of European projects and the resulting confrontation with intercultural differences and their challenges and opportunities, is meant to ensure that the student body expand their intercultural and social competences. In addition to the profits of the personal development of all participants, these skills can individually open extended opportunities on the European labour market for the students.
