PROJECT
FINISHED
This biennial project consists of internships for trainees and advanced education for teaching personnel of the agricultural-vocational school.
Partners of this project are Edith-Stein-Schule, Freiburg, Germany and the CFA (Centre de Formations d’Apprentis Agricole), the center of the vocational school district of the Rhône-Alpes region with headquarter in Dardilly/ France. This center consists of 21 agricultural-vocational schools in the Rhône-Alpes region in France.
Horticultural and viticultural trainees will be sent to the region of Rhône-Alpes on a two-weeks lasting internship. Those placements are mainly planned by the French partners in consultation with the German participants. Two groups of horticultural and two groups of viticultural trainees will be sent at a time. Each group of horticultural trainees consists of six trainees in their third year of apprenticeship, the viticultural trainees consists of two trainees in their second year of apprenticeship at Edith-Stein-Schule Freiburg.
The participants need to fulfill certain criteria. As a preparation there is a linguistic and intercultural workshop. The carefully selected students are incorporated in the daily routines of their internship. The operational tasks are close to the professional training in Germany, mainly in the field. The students receive the certificate “Europass Mobility”.
To provide a wider base, each horticulture group of students is joined by a field teacher – for advanced education and maintenance - to the region Rhône-Alpes for a limited period of time.
Acquiring additional insights in the reality of the partner organization CFA Régional on site is as well an aim of this advanced education as the increase of existing connections and the make of new contacts. Furthermore the teachers gain insight in the French agricultural subject teaching which enables them to enlarge their own professional competence.
This program should establish a permanent partnership and collaboration between Edith-Stein Schule Freiburg and the CFA Régional. Within this partnership trainees, instructors and agricultural teachers of both organizations will be sent regularly to participate in internships and advanced education.
The overall aim of this project is to improve the mobility of vocational training students in the agricultural sector and finally to enhance the European idea within the participants’ career.
