The project "interfaces- electronic instruments and participation" consists of an educational visit of the cultural organization “Share Music” by the employees of the artist collective barner 16. Both institutions develop inclusive arts and cultural projects to which disabled and not disabled persons contribute and which are presented in the so-called established cultural sector. The projects of both partners are very unique in their home countries, which makes the transnational transfer of expert knowledge in this field particularly valuable. The exchange of expert knowledge regarding inclusive arts and cultural work thus aims at acquiring new skills in this particular field. In the process of intensifying these skills, the focus rests on the supportive cooperation with severely disabled artists, notably by using innovative technologies/electronic instruments. Furthermore, a long-term cooperation of both institutions will be initiated and prepared specifically. The time spend in Sweden is thus planned to be used on the one hand to participate in a ShareMusic-Workshop and on the other hand to develop a draft for a joint art project. This future project aims first at prioritizing the artistic collaboration of severely disabled persons in arts and cultural projects; second at developing new artistic strategies to include this target group in professional arts projects, and third at facilitating inclusion in the so-called established cultural sector by these means. Because only very few projects operate in this field in Europe, the transnational exchange to extend and to generate innovative expertise leading to cultural participation of severely disabled persons is of particular relevance. Four employees of barner 16 will take part in this knowledge-exchange project. The employees are working in the artistic as well as the strategic-conceptual part of barner 16: - Lis Marie Diehl studied Rehabilitation Sciences. She is a project manager at barner 16 and among other things responsible for the development of projects, their application and implementation and for networking with potential partners. - Anneke Boeken is an advertising consultant in the event sector. She also studies Social Work and will complete her studies in April this year. At barner 16 she is responsible for booking, project monitoring, label representation, and public relations. - Stefan Gundelmann is a kindergarten teacher, freelance musician and works in the music sector of barner 16 with severe multiple disabled persons. He focuses on developing technical solutions, which enable the participants to express themselves through music. - Christian Fleck is a freelance musician. He works educational and as a music producer for barner 16 (particularly with the band Station 17). He is involved in various inclusive cultural projects all over Germany. The main aspect of his work is to develop musical concepts for the cooperation in heterogeneous ensembles. The core of the project is the trip to Sweden, the participation in an inclusive workshop offered by ShareMusic, the exchange of expert knowledge and the initiation of a joint art project. The teams, in close coordination via regular conference calls, prepare the trip. ShareMusic covers the organizational tasks in Sweden, while barner 16 takes over the task to organize the trip and to administer the project. The exchange aims at gaining further individual expertise, which will be transferred into the respective teams. Also, a draft will be outlined for a joint art project, which will focus on including severely disabled persons and generate new approaches for the artistic work with this target group, which will be useful for other projects and institutions as well.
