Designed with young people and partly by them (co-construction), the “Intercultural and Interreligious Meeting” project is an exchange between young European people aged from 16 to 22 years old. These young people are coming from various European countries: Italy, Slovenia, Portugal, Iceland, Poland, France but also Canada. Through their camp life together and activities times with the association Coexister (Coexist), its purpose is to meet, discover the other, share its culture, and also to be involved with a local organism committed in interreligious dialogue, participating to solidarity actions which will be set up by Coexister. The activities will be prepared with the young participants in European teams (activities choice, thinking about the implementation, etc.) in relation with the activities of Coexister, the specialized partner in intercultural and interreligious meeting. The activities will be of different kinds: - Visit from different places of worship (church, mosque, synagogue …). The aim of these visits is multiple: a better understanding the modus operandi from these places and their impact on the various communities; exchanging with the worshippers of these diverse religions to better accept the differences; preparing questions for a game, etc. - To prepare a game allowing to children and teenagers to understand the religious differences better - Animations and activities of presentation and visibility to open a new Coexister group in Saint-Denis with young people from the town to create a long-term dialogue area - To participate to a solidarity action lead by Coexister in Argenteuil (ex: serving a meal to poor and homeless people) - To participate to a debate about active coexistence for a better « live together » The co-construction, i.e. the common preparation before and during the project with the young people from the different teams and the Coexister partner, will allow the young participants to get some specific new competences thanks to the activities. It will also allow them to experiment various democratic forms to let every participant express itself while making choices and decisions on the project. Finally, some specific activities on the life place will allow each participant to meet the other through its culture but also its individuality. The accommodation will be at Mours (a city at the north of Paris) and the activities will take place at Argenteuil and Saint-Denis (other northern cities).
