PROJECT
FINISHED
Using non formal education methods and experimental learning actions 28 youth workers, dealing with young people with fewer opportunities, coming from Belgium, Italy, France, Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt and Morocco will analyse the challenge of working with young people coming from different cultural backgrounds. The aim of the project is to explore the concept, the meaning and the tools of inturcultural education in order to enable participants to find new intercultural actions, strategies and activities.
The project foresees 2 main action: a training course to be held in Italy in October 2015 and a youth exchange to be held in Morocco in July 2016.
The training will involve 24 youth workers and educators coming from the 8 participating Countries. The youth exchange will bring 32 young people + 8 leaders (participants of the training course) in Morocco to experiment the meaning of intercultural education through the use of storytelling.
Within Europe as well as in its neighbouring countries, youth workers often work with young people in culturally diverse communities that provoke challenges and conflict in intercultural understanding and inclusion of society members with different backgrounds in terms of culture, language, ethnical backgrounds and religion. The challenge facing youth workers working with young people from different cultural backgrounds is to promote and practice positive intercultural work and for young people to value this.
As result of the project all the fairytales, legend and stories used during the youth exchange will be collected in "Interculturability-story book"; after the training course methodologies and tools will be collected and published on-line.
