The project “Interactive modular e-learning course for building professional qualifications” wants to use ICT to modernize the knowledge based training systems for lower qualified workers, namely “bricklayers”, in the construction sector. Based on an analysis of the existing training materials, the partners will develop simulation modules to achieve key competences and skills, containing basic knowledge on materials, processes, technology, tools, organisation of the workspace and safety issues. Role-play and video will be included to simulate different situations. The project is directly orientated towards unemployed young people, students, non-or low qualified workers in the construction sector and also towards teachers, trainers and educational institutions. Project results will be presented using publications, seminars and a demo version of the product on CD-Rom and Internet. Regular presentations will be held to inform other educational institutions and representative organisations out of the construction sector.
