The "Interact Pro Monte" project is share in two main phases.A first phase of evaluation of best practices of cross border, transnational and interregional cooperation in mountain sustainable development. These informations would be analysed and adapted to expectations of mountain local authorities and development actors.During the second phase, the transfer and the diffusion would be doned towards plateforms of targeted public and to regional and local authorities and development actors of mountain areas.One of the main aims of the "Interact Pro Monte" project is to analyse what kind of cooperation projects are done in mountain and what difficulties are met by the local and regional authorities, by public and private development actors.The Interact Pro Monte project could strongly contribute to EU policies, national and regional policies concerning mountain sustainable development. Expected Results: A clear progress in interregional cooperation at regional and local levels in mountain regions;Development of trans-border cooperation between local mountain authorities.Some arguments and best practices to help to set up the future cohesion and regional policies after 2006 considering the objectives of social, economic and territorial cohesion;Development of a mountain specific approach in regional policies even in a Permanent handicap region (suggestion : even with a broader approach addressing "regions with geographical handicaps")Some arguments to set up a legal framework for a trans-border cooperation authority;Creation of trans-border territorial authorities.A better adaptation of the future interregional cooperation tool (Interreg IV) to mountain specificities;A development in this future Interreg CIP of specific items important in mountain like for example pluriactivity, transport and communications, general interest services, pastoralism, sustainable tourism, cultural and architectural heritage, …;A strong participation of mountain authorities in the future Interreg Instrument.An added value both for the European Union as a whole, and for the mountain regions in particular;A better integration in mountain national and regional laws and sustainable development strategies of interregional and cooperation around the massif dimension or lower;Trans-border cooperation taken into account in mountain sustainable development strategies.European support for mountain transborder working communities of massif.A higher use of Interreg in the transborder working communities of massif.
