Integration Citizenship - Integration of Immigrant..
Integration Citizenship - Integration of Immigrants and Refugees - Towards Citizenship in a Democratic Society
The Integration Citizenship project will design, pilot and promote new training courses for social workers, or similar field workers, able to present new approaches for the integration of immigrants and refugees having citizenship or a residence permit. Developed with the participation of immigrant communities and organisations, the approach will be an empowerment approach, pointing to networking opportunities, routes to learning & employment and to the core values, rights and responsibilities associated with citizenship. Following the initial development of common concepts and methods, partners will design two training courses, one for social work students and one for the re-training of field work agency workers. Beyond the pilot phase and any necessary adjustments, the end courses expect to be added to the training programmes of all partner agencies. End products will include a presentation of the training methodology, course curricula and related materials, to include examples of best practice. All products will be developed in EN (with elements of course content adapted and translated into NL, DA & CZ) and available made on paper, on CD-Rom and as web-based material. The dissemination strategy, at national and European level, will bring the training methodology and developed training courses to the attention of universities, colleges, professional social work associations, NGO alliances, local authorities and policy makers. Partners consider it probable that the end result will be adopted by the Humanitas association and by a number of University social work schools in Europe that are part of the same active network as the project partners.
