Institutionalization of the European Route of Brick Gothic (EuRoB) - a culturally and historically inspired tourism route marketing the brick Gothic heritage and related cultural offers (EuRoB II)

The European Route of Brick Gothic has become a six-borders-crossing European cultural route in the Baltic Sea Region inviting local inhabitants and visitors and media to experience this outstanding cultural heritage. The route has been organized in a non-profit association open to extensions with natural persons and further cities/bodies, founded in September 2007. The website www.eurob.org and a variety of publications on local and European scale related to each other serve the knowledge and information about the route and its content. Parts of the impressing heritage of brick Gothic architecture in the Baltic Sea Region are documented at the heritage-related website http://bricks.eurob.org. The route passes through Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Sweden and has been developed in collaboration of local and regional administrations, of tourism and heritage experts. Achievements: Establishment of the association “European Route of Brick Gothic” (formally: “Europäische Route der Backsteingotik e.V.) with basic financial equipment to be capable of activities. Extension envisaged with persons and institutions supporting the association’s aim to increase the awareness in the public and business sector of the European cultural heritage. Access of project partners is in process. Database fully available with pictures, trilingual texts, compendium texts etc. for all partners; Implementation of an optimum set of marketing tools for the transnational cultural route; realization in corporate design and shape; Online brick Gothic heritage compendium with appealing and informing pictures, drawings, paintings and texts, glossar etc. Closely linked to the tourism-related website.
