Quality changes, together with growing geographical area of labour market, bring the necessity of broadening the qualifications of vocational school graduates by providing them with additional practical, language and social skills. Erasmus+ Programme creates such opportunities. The Project called ‘Innowacyjne techniki zdobienia wnętrz’ (Innovative techniques in interior finishing) is designed for students of 2nd and 3rd grades of ZSZ ( Vocational School) and TB ZSB ( Technical School Complex) and ZSZ SOSW ( Vocational school at Special Training and Education Centre). The training will be held in vocational school in Presov, Slovakia, the school of similar training profile to ours. ZSB and SOSW have been keeping friendly relations and cooperation with that school for more than 35 years now. The Presov School, unlike ours, has been holding the trainings for students in professions covered by the programme for tens of years. Three-week professional trainings will take place in two terms: from 15.09.2016 to 05.10.2016 and from 04.05.2017 to 24.05.2017 and will be held in training halls of SOSt in Presov which have been designed to enable activities adequate to those performed in real conditions such as actual construction sites. Two 24-person training groups will be recruited from the students of 2nd and 3rd grades of vocational and technical schools specializing in the following professions: bricklayer-plasterer; building and finishing works in construction fitter. Moreover, 5 additional students from ZSZ SOSW ( Vocational school at Special Training and Education Centre ) will participate in the project who have mild mental retardation. At the same time all groups will participate in classes concerning the latest materials, systems and solutions used in building when finishing the interiors. Theoretical vocational matters for both groups will be covered at the same time during classes held in promoter`s institution and will be held at appropriate for ZSZ students` level. The choice of target group and training programme derives from ZSB development strategy which includes aspiration to be the leading regional building education centre fulfilling the needs of labour market in this field. Due to demographic and logistic matters, as well as the fact that not many junior high school graduates choose this field of further education, we are not able to organise such formal training within the curriculum of ZSB itself. In result we find it necessary to provide additional, out of school training in chosen profession to fulfill the needs of local labour market searching for selected professionals. The experience like this will also create a base for proceeding another programmes of different Erasmus+ sectors. The additional advantage of training abroad will be the possibility to know culture, habits and mother tongue of a partner country which matters a lot due to dynamic growth of economical and cultural cooperation of Polish southern counties and Slovakia. The main goal of the training is to broaden the knowledge and skills meant for students of technical and vocational schools with those not included in school curriculum which means getting new qualifications in interior finishing as well as social and language skills. Thanks to the training, students involved in it will have the opportunity to praise themselves with additional theoretical and practical accomplishments so much valued by employers nowadays. The skills gained at the training will perfectly supplement their knowledge derived from school learning. Final exams of double formula will be held to assess the results of the training. The exams will be based on formal rules of confirming professional qualifications binding both in Poland and Slovakia. Additionally every participant will be rewarded with adequate Europass in the field of Mobility (Europass Mobilność). The fundamental argument in favour of organizing this type of professional training is the falling number of students interested in vocational education deriving from growing educational aspirations. In future it may result in lack of professionals in many crafts. As a result the craftsmen may be more valuable in labour market than technical school graduates focused on further education. Therefore our choice of participants out of students of 2nd and 3rd grades of ZSZ ( Vocational School) and TB ZSB ( Technical School Complex) and ZSZ SOSW ( Vocational school at Special Training and Education Centre) seems most reasonable as long as they are provided with the programme content in a modern way and in consequence will be equipped with necessary additional skills expected at European labour market nowadays.
