Innovative exchange of knowledge, experiences and methods based on cultural heritage of textil
Practices and methods about learning in a broader sense within non-formal educationalsystems which museums can offer to individuals and different groups of people have agreat importance in our rapidly changing society. Traditions, experiences and most of allinheritance of form and objects within the field of textile have to be exploited. Thepurpose of the project is to find new learning methods for utilising the regional and othercultures collected textile heritage. The project promotes better infrastructure, capacityand competence to engage new target groups in lifelong learning processes in themuseums. It targets adult learners and trainers of museums who will develop their ownskills and competences through exchanging knowledge and experiences with otherprofessionals within the project partnership.The core objectives to be achieved are: to develop an adult educational method forrenewal of the textile inheritance in order to motivate and teach interested people,craftsmen and designers how to use the collections of the museums as inspirationsources to create innovative new products; to provide direct access to objects of themuseums and develop methods to handle them in order to identify methods foradaptability; to highlight the value of cultural heritage within the field of textile (dresses,cloths, interior decorations, accessories) and the value of diversity in Europe; tostrengthen the target group's integration in the labour market and to enhance theircompetences, motivation and entrepreneurship.The outputs will be: seminars and workshops for exchanging knowledge andexperiences and for dissemination and exploitation; curriculum and course material in allthe partner languages; pilot courses in the partner countries; European pilot coursesbased on foreign textile heritage; new training products developed as the results of thecourses; a web-site, DVD, reports, exhibition catalogue, brochures, flyers.
