Innovative & Environmentally friendly NETwork for the Development & Promotion of Entrepreneurship (GREEN SPOTS)

The main outputs of the project are Publicity & Promotion actions, awareness raising seminars on sustainable tourism, a study on the common tourism product, a guide on operation standards for enterprises and tourism sites, a volunteers’ network of enterprises and sites, an area’s marketing plan focussing on ICT use, promotion material, a common Destination Management Organization (DMO), a common web portal (common Destination Management System - DMS), a pilot operation of Green Spots (as part of DMS). The added value of the project consists in the creation of the DMO, which will contribute to improving the competitiveness of the area. The DMO will use innovative tools as interactive web portal and web info kiosks, to providing information on the areas, with capability for online communication with tourism enterprises, services etc. Info kiosks will operate with solar energy and be spread in all project areas. Expected Results: A common tourism Organization on sustainable tourism policy using ICT technologies to enhancing the areas’ competitiveness, is expected to be established. Partners, local actors, enterprises and residents will become aware on sustainable tourism. A new common tourism product will be promoted. Potential & existing visitors will be informed on the area’s tourism product. Many local entrepreneurs are expected to apply quality & sustainability services on their business. More than 200 local actors (60% women) will increase knowledge on sustainable tourism and ICT technologies, resulting from the participation and exchange of experience to raising awareness seminars, conferences. 12000 potential visitors will be informed about the project area from the printed promotion material of the marketing plan. More than 50000 people (potential visitors, local residents) will be informed from the common web platform and the operation of the e info kiosks. Finally, an efficiently managed project partnership will be created, reaching its objectives according to the plan.
