PROJECT
FINISHED
Slovak clothing industry is undergoing big changes in recent years. Production of giant corporations is reduced, eventually shifted to Asia. This situation requires training of young professionals in fashion who will be able to adapt to changing conditions on the Slovak labor market of the clothing industry. This implies that students can be prepared for those conditions by qualified teachers with special knowledge of the situation in the clothing industry and fashion marketing.
Therefore, teachers have to find new ways of obtaining information of current trends in fashion garment industry and their transformation into the school curriculum in order to create a “store“ of innovative methodologies and ideas on how to prepare students for the Slovak clothing industry efficiently.
The objective of the “Innovationstore” project is to gain professional skills, experience in the fashion, and mediate them gradually to teachers of other vocational clothes schools. Particular project partners were chosen on the basis of carefully considering the needs of teachers. Fashion marketing and promotion (Netherlands) are important part of a successful introduction and sustaining of the fashion brand in the market. It is also needed to know the more detailed diversification of the segments of the fashion market – Haute couture → designer → mass market (Italy). Integral part of the clothing industry is to maintain its own identity e.g. transformation of traditional techniques and patterns into contemporary fashion (Turkey).
In the project teachers will gain the experience with international dimension that will be used for creation of internal methodologies in the field of modern education of fashion and clothing industry. Methodologies will facilitate career and personal development of teaching staff and will improve the quality of modern vocational education.
