Limited access and insufficient ability to integrate external knowledge, proprietary technologies and resources as well as to enter foreign markets by utilising innovation partnerships disable SMEs both in Belarus and Lithuania to fully exploit innovation and technological development opportunities. Innovation support organisations lack exchange and network of their services and key innovation stakeholders (including public authorities) remain isolated through underdeveloped cooperation. The balanced partnership of academic and innovation support organizations will stimulate cross-border economic development through diffusion of innovation both locally and trans-nationally in accordance with the needs of the industrial, economic, and social institutions in Lithuanian-Belarusian regions. Expected Results: The project is expected to enhance capacity of innovation support practitioners in participating regions through creation Transnational network of innovation intermediaries; to foster links between key regional innovation stakeholders in the participating regions by conduction 4 seminars and 2 study visits; to ensure sustainability of the network activity by promoting 2 reference guides/1 book on regional innovation strategies development within partner regions and conducting 3 pilot events for Lithuanian and Belarusian SMEs.
