PROJECT
FINISHED
Starting from the socio- cultural and linguistic needs of our school ( students with special needs , such as foreigners , disabled, little trained teachers to deal with the critical issues such as the release , drop out , failure and difficulties to achieve the key skills of citizenship and objectives of the EU 2020 ), we wondered how we could act , what strategies we could put in place to fight the drop out and to motivate our kids .
After sharing personal opinions and doubts we realized that we had to address the issue with other strategies , most innovative , most motivating both for us and the students . Surfing on the net we became aware of training courses extremely interesting , we focused on the use of ICT ,activities centered on interculturality and new tools to motivate, also taking into account the high percentage of foreigners in our Institute .
We talked with our headmaster who agreed with us on the desirability of being able to innovate our teaching strategies in the light of other European experiences . Thus our project of our institute EDP was born: "Innovate to motivate and to internationalize " involving eight teachers in different areas of instruction ( languages , support, letters, math , science , physical education ) at several addresses of institute : high school, vocational school , technical and evening adult education . It is expected mobility for 4 teachers per year , while the other ones work in the team on preparation , monitoring, evaluation and dissemination .of the project. We will study successful methodologies to stimulate self-learning and spice up the interest of the whole institution and its internal and external stakeholders . Effective communication in all its forms (direct and via multimedia tools , computer platforms and ICT) will be the winning method to promote excellence , integration, multiculturalism , internationalization and innovation.
The internationalization process of the global institute poses us the question of ethics and morality teachers to build a cross- curriculum that takes account of these opportunities offered by Erasmus PLUS . In this way, the staff will have the opportunity to gain new knowledge and teaching skills that will have positive effects on the class , which in turn will be a lead actor in this synergistic process of exchange. As a matter of fact, when the partecipants will be operative, the new skills acquired, will be introduced and tested in the classroom. The participation in the project is motivated by the need to remedy deficiencies not only in linguistic fields but also for social integration. In this sense, the support of associations in the area who are our partners and especially that of the Erasmus plus allow us to go in the right direction to meet the special needs of new European citizenship and all the possibilities related that promote intercultural dialogue. The impact that we expect in the medium and long term and the benefits arising from the development of this project, originated in the part of an integrated territorial plan of action that will enable us , if the project will be funded, to exploit the energies of the various actors and local specificities in a convergent action in support of the common European objectives of the EU 2020 and ET 2020. Our effort will focus on the realization of the benefits that will fall on the entire institution such as: the formation of European citizens able to take an active part in an international context ; teach the culture , integration and co-existence through the development of different identities and cultural roots of each student ; offer real opportunities for prevention of early school leaving and guidance in vocational training. The real expected impact will be :well-being and personal growth, intercultural and professioal educative environment , update POF with relapse on the curriculum of the school and the growth of membership, with short -and medium- term also deploying a team of project coordinators for the overall accessibility to additional opportunities for Erasmus plus and every kind of international event.
