The Secondary School of Economics Velika Gorica, as an applicant organisation for Erasmus+ project under Key Action 1, and Vitalis Betreuungsgesellschaft für Modell projekte GmbH as their partner organization, have designed a mobility project entitled: Information Technology Based Business and Modern Teaching. The main objectives of the project are to improve the quality and efficiency of the economic vocational teaching and to increase its attractiveness and importance, to increase the quality and competences of the school teachers of training firms and business language as well as those of the principal at all levels of education, to develop the level of key competences and skills of the staff and the students through international mobility, to improve the international level of education and training, to improve the knowledge of a foreign language and to gain cultural awareness which might at the end make students more competitive in the labour market and more capable of independent entrepreneurial activities. The project involves 15 students and 8 members of the staff of the Secondary School of Economics Velika Gorica. The students to be involved in vocational training in Vitalis company FileMaker pro familiarized themselves with the information technology based business which activities cover the fields of trade, financial operations, marketing, accounting and tourism, with the company activities and employees, with various working tasks and operations as well as with business letters and forms, and finally they helped and took part in implementation of the company work tasks. The school staff, in cooperation with Vitalis during workshops and visits to institutions related to the education of entrepreneurs and economists, acquainted itself with the German education system and teaching methods, as well as how theory is connected with and put into practice. In the meantime, there were paid visits to the Secondary School ASG Bildungszentrum Leipzig, Praktical Training Centre - "ZAV GmbH - Zentrum für Aus- und Weiterbildung" in Leipzig, the firm Vitalis GmbH , Nova Eventis and the cities of Leipzig, Dresden and Berlin. The students had 21 days for their vocational practice, and the staff had 7 days for their professional training. The outcomes of the above-mentioned mobility project for students will be to acquire new vocational knowledge and skills in the field of economy and entrepreneurship at the international, European level, to improve their language competences, and acceptance of new attitudes to work. Consequently, this will improve their personal development, increase employability and management in the international labour market. Concerning the staff of the Secondary School of Economics Velika Gorica, the project will result in the increase of professional competences in teaching and school management according to the European standards of the economic vocational education, inventiveness in teaching and improvement of the quality of teaching and training of young economists, shop-assistants and entrepreneurs. The project has been introduced to local, regional, national and expert public via dissemination activities, which in turn increases the appeal of economic vocational training and contributes to the awareness of European efforts in improving the economic situation and employability.
