Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences: New Postgraduate Programs

This aim of the project is to develop and implement new curricula of Masters of Engineering in 4 different fields of concentrations of industrial engineering (IE) each adopted by a PC university. Target concentrations include operations management,logistics and supply chain,human factors engineering and Quality.The project aims at establishing and equipping different labs at PC universities to be used to train students on using the most up-to-date equipments, optimization tools.The curricula will include a list of common core courses for all specialization,in addition to other groups of courses serving different fields of concentration.A graduation thesis during the 2nd year of study directly applied to a selected problem which may represent an improvement opportunity to students’ organizations.Ultimate project objectives will be achieved through several milestones: Cooperation channel between universities and industry will be established through a group of workshops targeting different industry sectors aiming to raise the awareness of industrialist and introduce modern methods of IE for effective resource management.Established cooperation will assist in defining typical industry needs and common problems for different industry sectors,this will be achieved through conducting survey questionnaires and field visits.PC & EU universities together with industrial partners will jointly design program curriculum on scientific basis fulfilling industry determined industry needs.Detailed courses description will be defined;course contents,lab experiments and required teaching facilities will be defined.Designed programs will be presented for approval at various authority levels.Teaching staff will acquire training on designed courses,methodologies and lab experiments.Labs will be established at PC universities.Dissemination will be achieved through awareness workshops,promotional materials and project web site.The program will be launched by the third year of the project.
