The first action will involve students of electrical and mechanical sectors. They will be accompanied by three teachers. The aim is to educate students in developing innovative ideas in the design, testing, production and marketing of innovative products to market.The economic recession in which our country is found, necessitates not only the development and expansion of processing, but also the creation of new profitable innovative companies utilizing expertise from countries leaders in the field.The second action will mainly involve students of Agronomy and 2 teachers. The cultivation of traditional crops and the production, processing and manufacturing of Mediterranean food products is an interesting topic for students of the Agricultural sector, while students of other disciplines who will participate will focus their interest in the processing, packaging and marketing.Agriculture is a primary production sector today in Cyprus, but unfortunately contributes less than the potential of the local economy. The aim is for Cyprus to take advantage of the excellent weather conditions and to become an important player in the European market of quality agricultural products.In Crete, there are large and specialized product units of agricultural productions and processing of Mediterranean food. Our students, unfortunately, do not have the opportunity to visit such units in Cyprus. Therefore, we have chosen to visit Crete, not only for the units but also for the use of Greek language. Apart from visiting the production companies, students will come in contact with research and academic institutions, which is another area that highly interests us.Our teachers have experience in conducting such programs.These programs include both theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is based on problem solving method adopted by our school, while the practical part will involve students on studying design and construction, work and practice.Objectives of the program for the students:• Work with people of the EU countries without prejudice, discrimination and obstacles• Learn about planning processes, production control and marketing of innovative products• Recognize the importance of new technology in the development of innovative products and agriculture• Promote research and innovation• Learn about the role of school in the local community and how it is linked to the development and preservation of cultural heritage• Gain professional experience and educational outlets in the new European context• Learn about educational systems of other countries• Transferee experience and expertise in the fields of industrial design and production of quality agricultural products.Benefits for participants:• Meet the educational and professional needs• Get to know techniques for innovative ideas, which lead to economic recovery• Improve the skills and abilities to handle information• Socializing by coming in contact with students and residents of other countries• Managing a demanding program adapted to students possibilities, mobilizing knowledge and skills to respond.
