PROJECT
FINISHED
Our EVS project focuses on 2 departments: The EVS activities will take place mainly in the judo AND in the youth department. Some tasks in other departments are also possible but it depends on the skills and the interests of volunteers.
In judo we aim to integrate mentally disabled young people into our sports club. The mentally disabled young people visit one of our special partner schools. They should get the chance to take part in our activities in the sports club. Our judo trainers and interested young members (without any disability) should offer judo trainings and leisure activities for the target group. At the moment we have a few activities during the week. The EVS volunteer can help develop new leisure and cultural activities for the target group which help them to get included in our sports club. Organizing common activities which bring young people with and without disability together would be our primary wish.
In the youth department the EVS volunteer can work with young people without disabilities. He/she can help organizing our holiday program (7 weeks per year), and can contribute for instance with organizing activities in which participants of our holiday program can learn new cultures and languages from the volunteers.
The EVS volunteer will work within these 2 or more departments and organize activities, in which young people with and without disabilities can come together. Projects within a limited time and in small groups are possible. It is also imaginable to work at our reception to get in contact with most of our members. Moreover, our daily child care can be an adequate working place for the volunteer. Thanks to all of these activities he/she can get to know daily life of a big sports club.
The working place of the volunteer is situated at our sports park in our main office. The volunteer will be in daily contact with full-time and part-time staff such as our trainees and other (non-EVS) volunteers. The leisure and sports activities take place at our sports park as well as in the partner schools.
The volunteer will get a furnished room in a shared flat with other EVS and German volunteers. The main office is easily reachable with the elevated rail way (the famous German “Schwebebahn”)
