InclusEVS
Start date: May 1, 2015, End date: Mar 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

“InclusEVS” is an EVS project focused on the social inclusion of young with fewer opportunities in educational work with children and adolescents. This EVS involved 5 associations: Associazione P.E.CO. as coordinating organization, Associazione Il Ce.Sto. Onlus in Genova and Istituto Walden in Menfi (AG) as hosting organizations and Ser Joven, Support for Youth Development, Youth Union of People with Initiative as sending organizations. The projects involved 4 volunteers: 2 young women who was been hosted in June-July 2015 by Il Ce.Sto. and other two young women who stayed for 6 months at Istituto Walden. The idea for the project InclusEVS derives from Associazione P.E.CO.’s interest social inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities, shared by the two hosting organizations, which focus their inclusive action on minors aged 6-18 coming from disadvantaged contexts. InclusEVS had the objective of including volunteers facing social-economic obstacles: all 4 volunteers were indeed unemployed. This project was therefore a response to the need of tackling social and occupational marginalizations, by giving volunteers the opportunity to live a formative and profesionalizing experience in the sector where they aspire to work, with the perspective of increasing their possibility of being hired. The volunteers was been involved in activites of cultural entertainment and support to the summer camp activities organized by Ce.Sto. and in activities of support to educators and users, scholastic support and workshop activities inside the residential centre managed by Istituto Walden in Menfi. The activities had a strong professional and personal impact on the volunteers, both for the service experience itself and for the life in a new context. The project had a positive result on their social and professional inclusion path.
