IncludU is a project on Learning EU@School targeting both 16-18 years old pupils and their teachers. School’s role is central in raising citizens’ awareness on European integration issues. IncludEU intends to attract the attention on current challenges that European Member States face due to migration crisis with a strong focus on EU fundamental values of equality, tolerance and non-discrimination; it aims at promoting mutual respect and build a foundation for an open and democratic society; it is designed to motivate young Upper Secondary Schools students (16-18 years old) to interact, wonder about and discuss how young generation will safeguard open, inclusive and democratic societies. IncludEU also is planned to create an interactive learning environment where universities, schools, youth NGOs, municipalities, regional authorities, cultural organizations, artists, volunteers, and students will promote the establishment of focal points within the schools which, theretofore, will act as multipliers for spreading values and knowledge gained towards their local societies. It follows an innovative methodology through qualitative training and interactive and experiential workshops and advanced educational material combining ICTs, gaming, art and fertile exchange of ideas and experiences. Moreover, IncludEU will blend senior citizens and migrants which experienced the repercussions of discrimination and displacement with youngsters in order raise their awareness on the importance of an Open and Democratic Europe. Finally, it will have a multiplier effect both within the participants schools and society.
