INCA will develop an outline framework, diagnostic tool and record of competence for the assessment of intercultural competencies (to be integrated with language and subject area competencies) particularly for those entering the Engineering profession.It is increasingly recognised that employees within the Engineering sector are expected to work closely with their European counterparts in an environment capable of cultural assumptions & attitudes different than their own, as such the industry requires personnel able to do this both efficiently and effectively.The outline framework will be output in all working languages of the partnership (EN, DE & CZ) and will be available either in electronic or paper-based format. The tool and record of competence (similar formats) will not stand-alone but will work alongside existing competence-based assessments in both language and individual subject knowledge.Project results will provide a standardised, transparent means for employers & training providers to be able to assess individuals skills in intercultural competence. For the target beneficiaries, this can only serve to increase individual employability.
