In-Out: Youth Inclusion in Practice

Against the background of a high youth unemployment rate in Europe, political marginalisation and exclusion of youth, the training course gathered youth and social workers from different countries and provided them with space to learn from and with each other by sharing their approaches and practises on youth inclusion and by analysing the European strategy on youth with the aim to draw conclusions for their own work. Thus, the objectives of the training course were been: - To increase the understanding of the situation and challenges of young people with fewer opportunities in Europe; - To share best practices of inclusion measures across Europe, particularly in the field of educational programmes; - To analyse the European Youth Strategy and put it into relation to the situation of young people in Europe; - To develop conclusions for a practical advices for inclusive youth work in EECA countries based on the learning experiences of EU countries and the European Youth Strategy; - To design needs-based, local and international programmes supporting the inclusion and participation of young people, specifically in EECA region; During the core activity of the project, a 8-day training course, we made use of non-formal educational tools and the principles of non-formal education that supported mutual learning in a process of giving and taking, sharing and gaining from participant to participant. As a result, 7 follow-up projects were developed by the participants based on an analysis of the situation of young people in their countries and by using the competences the participants developed during the first training days in creating needs-based and outcome oriented youth projects addressing issues of youth exclusion. Overall, 35 youth workers and youth leaders from Italy, Germany, Turkey, the Netherlands, Poland, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Moldova and Ukraine took part in the project as participants and project implementation staff. The training course “In-Out: Youth Inclusion in Practice” took place in Ganja, Azerbaijan from July 11 to July 19 2015.
