The IN-ORCHESTRA project is a strategic partnership in support of innovation: it aims to develop innovative results and carry out a dissemination and exploitation activity of a ‘Multi-Art Network’, which includes educational and inclusive pathways of orchestral music-type (Italy), artistic and multimedia (France), multimodal music-type (Poland) and theatrical-body (Turkey) for pupils with intellectual disabilities.The partnership includes Fondazione Scuola di Musica di Fiesole (IT), Fondazione Sequeri Esagramma (IT), Fondazione Spazio Reale (IT), Centre de la Gabrielle-MFPass (FR), Polish Association for the Intellectually Disabled (PL), Usak University (TUR), with a duration of 3 years. The project was born from the long experience of the partners involved, based on the idea that the right to education and training and, in particular to guarantee the effective exercise of it, is one of the point that most affect people with disability, as an essential condition for a full integration and inclusion in social and working life.The beneficiaries are children and young people with moderate/severe intellectual disability induced (or complex) by organic encephalopathy and psychotic outbreaks. The age groups involved in the educational process can not be fixed with chronological rigour both for the types of disabilities and for the variables that affect the successful involvement in the suggested process. In general, the project is addressed to young people during the primary and secondary school. The IN-ORCHESTRA project includes:ITALY: the realization of educational orchestral inclusive pathways and symphony orchestras to integrate young people with intellectual disabilities. It will be adopted the Esagramma® Model to create Inclusive Orchestra Education, with the establishment of an Participative Symphonic Orchestra, involving musicians in training and 24 young people with intellectual disability at Scuola di Musica di Fiesole and Fondazione Spazio Reale, helping by specialized teachers and supervisors from Fondazione Sequeri Esagramma Onlus, with a duration of 3 years.FRANCE: the realization of educational artistic and multimedia pathways for the social inclusion of young people with intellectual disabilities. The methodology is based on the art-therapy to reactivate the psycho-affective development. The pathways consist of many workshops, aimed at 6 young disabled, focused on multimedia art and audiovisual tools The final output will be a movie. POLAND: the realization of music educational pathways for 25 young people with disabilities that use the sound-musical element to open new channels of communication. Pathways consist of many musical performances, with technological and multimodal instruments.TURKEY: the realization of educational pathways based on drama therapy. The actions will turn to 15 young people with intellectual disabilities with the production of a final play. In this context, the project has the following general goal: to support the educational inclusion of students with intellectual disabilities through innovative methods based on the exploitation of the different forms of art (music, art, theatre) as an instrument of personal strengthening and an improvement of learning capabilities. In particular, the specific goals are: a. to improve learning capabilities of young people with special needs in order to enhance their personal growth, their intellectual capabilities and their interpersonal relations;b. to support national institutes of education offering specific formative itinerary in the field of music therapy, art therapy and drama therapy, directed toward students with several types of psych- and intellectual disadvantages (Autism spectrum, mental retardation, learning disabilities, post-traumatic stress disorder, mental disorder…) c. to realize an exchange of best practice between trainers and European organization which employ the music, theatrical and artistic education;d. to train professionals able to work in different National and European context, to give value on the therapeutic and educational results and to disseminate reference therapies and action methodologies;e. to engage stakeholder and local communities through inclusive artistic events. The transnational approach is a basic condition to reach the general and specific goals of the project as it permits the sharing of different methodologies and experiences in the field of the inclusion of children with disabilities; the knowledge and the exchange of methods, tools, know hows and skills for trainers involved in these pathways; the dissemination through artistic performance of the educational and therapeutic role of music, theatre and the applied arts for children with disabilities. The dissemination and exploitation of results, for its social importance, will be managed by all partners in countries, and it will finish with a big European Festival in Florence.
