”Improving Performance through Learning Transfer” is an ERASMUS + KA1 Moblity project, promoted by Asociatia CEDRU – Centrul de Excelenta pentru Dezvoltarea Resurselor Umane (CEDRU – Centre of Excellence for Human Resources Development”) from Craiova, Romania, in partnership with ITC International (an adult education institution for in-service teacher training, established by the Czech Ministry of Education), Quarter Mediation (an adult education provider based in the Netherlands) and Associazione Laboratorio del cittadino Onlus (an adult education provider based in Italy) .
The project responded to CEDRU development strategy focused on developing excellence in lifelong learning, enhancing creativity and innovation, promoting a responsible education and training strategy, focused on equity, social cohesion and active citizenship
All the key staff involved in this project had experience in European projects, active citizenship, entrepreneurship, interactive teaching methods for adults and teenagers, intelligence educational implementation, open source intelligence. There were 3 project staff members and 4 trainers for adults who participated in 4 different training activities. They were selected with a transparent procedure, having very good team work spirit, communication and relationship skills, managerial experience, good practice in project management. All of them are independent in English, one of them is proficient in French, with good ITC skills.
The needs of the participants were established by conducting a rough analysis of the basic professional and personal characteristics of our staff, as well of their working circumstances.
The main activity of the project consisted of participation in 4 training activities: ”Using E-Learning in the classroom”, ”Encouraging Creative Thinking”, ”Education for sustainable development in the light of climate change” and ”Europe entre Mythologie, Modernité et Multiculturalisme”.
The main objectives of the trainings were: improving the creative thinking skills; developing the tools and techniques for innovative problem solving; exchanging experiences and cross cultural practices in creativity and innovation; enhance intercultural awareness, and cultural diversity; provide trainers with practical ideas for how they can incorporate technology into their existing trainings; familiarize trainers with current Internet trends and how they can be applied in the creation of an e-lesson and how to create and implement their own e-learning platform, promoting sustainable development education for adults.
The topics of the selected individual courses were important specifically to our organization because they brought an important contribution to our human resources development in important fields of activity that are strongly connected to our association priorities and targets. We wanted to send our staff to these courses in order to acquire new knowledge, skills and attitudes that determine an important change in their activity at CEDRU, in terms of creativity, innovation, initiative and personal commitment. CEDRU was interested to have its own staff trained on different and creative approaches of teaching adults, because of our preoccupation with social cohesion, integration and fear of social disintegration of certain groups, due to social exclusion or lack of participation in the life of the community.
In a few words, methodology used in carrying out the project was made of:
• selection of project board and participants, following specific criteria and establishing each person role in the project implementation;
• establishing the needs of the participants, by conducting a rough analysis of the basic professional and personal characteristics of our staff, as well of their working circumstances;
• contacting training providers to find suitable trainings and signing the contracts/agreements/commitments/documents with National Agency, partners and participants;
• managing the project quality procedures, strategies, documents and external communication channels necessary for an appropriate implementation, according to the grant agreement;
• development of the main activity of the project: staff training abroad - 4 flows;
• development of the dissemination plan of the project;
• building the follow-up strategy of the project.
A European dimension of CEDRU activities for adults was fostered through this project implementation.
CEDRU selected staff participation in the project had an important impact not only on our organization but also on our town, region and international cooperation, because CEDRU is a part of a national and European network of organizations which share their learning experiences in order to multiply and give them added value.
