Manfred is a regional and national support centre for men, fathers and families with main office in Odense. Manfred is a NGO helping in crisis after broken relationships, divorce and loss of job. The aim with the center is to give a preventive effort, regaining learning skills, keeping the important contact to job and study and prevent a fatal social deroute. Manfred has a long standing experience in national and regional projects, especially in the field of social work, adult education and development cooperation. There are trained staff availble such as guides, coaches and a psychotherapist all with years of proven experience in coaching, mentoring and career guidance. The staff are in various degreess experienced in facilitation of learning and change processes at organizational, team and individual levels, in both the professional as well as vocational domain, where approaches such as narrative, storytelling, appreciative inquiry, reflective methods are used at a theoretical as well as practical level. With this project Manfred seeks further development of the staff, so it can advance in delivering even better educational and guidance services. Staff members (from board, staff, local branches, main office, etc.) will participate in a wide set of training courses, that all focus on learner centered and strength based approaches. These are, among other, narrative and appreciative approaches, question techniques, leading to better dialogue methods and ways to address the power of social discourses and much, much more. As a result of this, the whole organisation will improve the educational services, where the starting point will be the learner (as the learner is the expert on its own life) and learning will be better contextualised (in the context of the learners' life). This form of learning is in three words more respectful, empowering and sustainable.
