Improved Agriculture Improved Social Links
Start date: Jul 7, 2011, End date: Jul 7, 2012 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project aims to improve the overall social development and promote social cohesion among people and communities. In order to reach this aim, it develops the strategy which is directly focused on target groups and target areas needs. Since the target groups and target areas needs and constraints are sourced from economic conditions and lack of economic activities (although there are potentials for enlivening the economy), the project mainly focused on developing human resources according to target areas characteristics. With the help of the project, target groups enhance their occupational capacities according to labour market needs. Target groups empowerment results in boost in market, and since the market and labour force are developed, more income and overall welfare of the whole area is being available. By this way, an invaluable contribution is made to socio-economic problems of the target areas and a big step is being taken in solving their isolation problems. Achievements: The main project goal was to improve the overall social development and promote social cohesion among people and communities. The project was meant to tackle poor economic conditions and lack of economic activities in Kircasalih and Haskovo on the basis of existing potentials for enlivening the economy. The project mainly focused on developing human resources according to target areas characteristics through series of trainings in the field of agriculture – grape cultivation and wine production. With the help of the project, target groups enhanced their occupational capacities according to labour market needs in the supported regions, which is expected to contribute to solving socio-economic problems of the target areas and is considered as a big step in solving their geographical isolation. A local Vine Harvesting Festival in Kircasalih created social links between partnering regions and served for dissemination purposes by attracting attention to project outcomes of relevant society actors (public authorities, NGO representatives, milk and dairy products related firms etc.).The project has been completed in June 2012.
