ILC Volunteers on the Move
Start date: May 1, 2011,
European voluntary service entitled “ILC Volunteers on the Move” is a mobile EVS project that was called to make international youth activities happening in Estonia more visible, recognizable and attractive for young people by means of audio-visual tools of communication. For 8 months Alberto Perez Gonzalez from Spain was travelling around Estonia and making video reportages about youth projects taking place there and organisations working in different regions of the country. Namely, volunteer filmed short movies, made pictures, took brief interviews, etc.; upon arrival back to the office in Tartu, volunteer edited the collected information and uploaded it to YouTube and “Telepurk”. In total, the volunteer managed to create 15 videos narrating the stories about different Youth in Action sub-actions. The video channel of Alberto’s video is available on YouTube:

As a result of his service, Alberto met a lot of youth organisations and got an insight of their methods, approaches, and target-group. Undoubtedly, apart from the skills in multimedia, volunteer certainly improved his social and personal skills during the service; the project provided enough space to develop one’s creativeness and sense of self-initiative. However, volunteer is not the only one who got benefits from the project; all local organisations involved into the project got an additional support in making their activities visible.
