Identification of biomarkers in patients suffering from multiple sclerosis (BIOMARK)

The general objective of the project is identifying disease specific biomarker, while the specific objectives are connected to training of clinicians, specialists and continuous education. The aim the examination carried out within the project is to search for a biomarker, which reveals the symptoms of the disease or provides information about the disease-process. In the frame of the research agreement between the Neurology Departments of the University of Szeged and the University of Timisoara the identification of new proteins is accomplished by using different techniques of protein separation, and compared with the clinical picture.Expected results: more accurate protein separation, more precise quantification, improvement of cytological examinations. Improved medical care of the patients and mutual cooperation in education.The target groups of the project are the patients, who can get adequate treatment in an earlier stage by diagnosing their disease more accurately and earlier, the physicians, researchers of both institutions, the members of the scientific public who can use the results of the joint publications, the health care system, the medical students etc.
