PROJECT
FINISHED
Extremely successful implementation of the previous projects “Let's go to Europe!” and the excellent cooperation with the partner Evos Parrucchieri Paul Dresser from Milan, Italy, encouraged Vocational School from Zagreb for the realization of a new project, the inclusion of a larger number of participants hairdressers and students who are studying for pedicure. A part from Evos Parrucchieri Paul Dresser, the new partners involved in the project were the two owners of hairdressing salons "Evos" and a beauty center "Runwaythefirst". All "Evos" partners since 1997, have been working closely with the company headquarters in which they work as certified educators and all of them are among 8 best hairdressers of chain "Evos" in Italy. "Runwaythefirst" is specialized in the field of manicure and pedicure. Salon manager Giancarlo Guccione has the role of authorized trainer for pedicure and manicure.
The impact of the project is that the participants repeat and strengthen their existing knowledge and skills and acquire the new ones. The students become fully involved in the life of the salons, they monitor the work, the way they deal with the clients, the participants get acquainted with different accessories and products they get used in the salons, new work techniques and new technologies and exchange experiences with Italian colleges.
The trainings organized by the salon owners and certified trainers, who demonstrate to the students a new techniques, innovations, new products as well as the trends in the profession, give the additional value to the project and to the participants.
Each group of hairdresser students visited the hairdressing Academy in Brescia where, for them, were organized a guided tour to the Academy and a presentation. A group of pedicurists visited exclusive cosmetic Atelier "Aldo Coppola" the most beautiful in Italy and in this part of Europe.
In order to bridge a language barrier and to increase the quality of work on the project, every day in the salons were presented translators and all the trainings leaded by the managers of the salons were simultaneously translated. 36 students of the second grade and 24 students of the third grade trained for hairdressers and 8 students of the second who are trained for pedicure were involved in the project. The students of the third grade after graduating our school enter the labor market. Each activity lasted for 2 weeks and included 12 hairdresser students, 8 pedicure students and one professional teacher who accompanied each group. The expected number of students fully complied the conditions, working hours and the number of professional employees whose task was to perform the role of a mentor to the students.
The detailed linguistic, professional, cultural and pedagogical preparations had been provided to all the project participants. Upon the completion of the project they acquired Certificates and Europass Mobility Document written in Croatian and English, which is valid throughout Europe and helps students to find a job in another European country. The practice is fully recognized in the Republic of Croatia in a way that the students need to attend less practical training lessons in their own salons.
Above intensive engagement at the professional level, all the participants were provided with organized activities in their leisure time. They visited Verona, Brescia and Venice, the lakes of Lago Maggiore and Lago di Como, they went to the water park Parco Acquatico and visited the World Expo with the theme "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life".
We shared precious results and success of the project to others in strongly organized dissemination. The crown of our project was its great presentation in a huge venue Studentski Centar that was visited by many distinguished guests and media as well as Croatian national television.
This project activity has a number of priceless values for the participants, for the institutions which have participated in the project, furthermore, it influences the broad end narrow community on which the project results and values are transferred in the process of dissemination. The participants gain the biggest benefit on the professional level but the project also affects directly their motivation, self-confidence, it gives the priceless experience of working and living in another country and gives to the participants an opportunity to develop a new contacts. Above all, the project provides an additional value and importance to the vocational occupations.
Our project ambitions are to expand the activities to the photographers and share this useful experience with other related vocational schools, connecting ourselves to the consortium. Ambitions of our "Evos parrucchieri" partners are to spread a chain of their salons in our region where the student involved in the project would have the advantage in the employment. The partners already offered the best students the possibility of working in their salons in Italy.
