ICT-net - Multimedia Training Network for an Effective Development of the ICT Basis in SMEs - on a European view

ICT-net will establish a European network to encourage ICT Management Training with the aim of empowering management personnel in functioning as ICT Strategists, able to make decisions with regard to ICT and its corporate implications. The project will develop a flexible training environment at European level able to provide information, advice and professional solutions on ICT development issues. It will develop a European partnership (across the partner countries) providing a transnational dimension to support in-company communication & decision making. An outline training curricula will be proposed to adapt existing training, in-line with the demands of industry and the labour market, particularly as regards ICT training and input on the implications of ICT for management staff.Certain training will be made available through remote counselling means (internet, telephone, e-mail) for a range of managers within the participating organisations, in addition a number of specialist seminars are planned within each of the partner countries to further address training needs.Three particular training issues are to be further addressed to include; ICT Functioning and Tendencies, ICT Standards and Strategic Management and Human Resources in ICT. These themes are to be addressed through semi-autonomous training (network training with remote tutoring). All training tools and materials are to be produced in EN as this is the accepted language for the sector, however an interactive support tool (CD-Rom) is to be further produced to support the three ICT training issues and this is to be produced in RO, FR & NL. Dissemination of project results is planned via the proposed seminars, through partner networks and through the project website.
