I.N.C.R.E.A.S.E. (Internationalization, new concepts and resources to enhance abilities for staff education) was conceived from the need of the school to overcome the difficulties of adapting the educational offer and activities for teaching and learning-evaluation of school population, the needs of the ever-changing life style and expectations regarding the educational public service.
"St. Nicholas" Secondary School from Târgu-Jiu has permanently developed with a tendency to be a school for an enlarged community, a school which prepares students for the challenges of everyday life, an elite school, but not for the elite. Our basic principle is to provide maximum opportunity for the student using his personality completely. The life habits of a growing part of the school population at the beginning of the 21st century highlights difficulties of adaptation to the common standards, both in terms of learning behavior and in the relationships. School teachers face challenges relating to compliance with the base principle of the school and bringing all students to common standards of learning and social life.
As a result, we intend to achieve the following objectives through this project of continuing education:
-connecting the educational services of the school to the examples of good practice;
- providing of our school staff the knowledge and skills to carry out educational activities tailored to individual education and training key competences, so that students achieve a high rate of success in exams, competitions, activities of the project;
-gaining a powerful group of teachers trained through European models, targeting all areas of the curriculum and educational support activities, which are to be a network of development for the present and the future;
Mobility activities will be attended by 15 teachers, targeting all areas of the school. To improve the methodological issues, which require in the future development of stand-alone institutional projects one representative for both the primary and secondary school will go to the courses. We refer to the areas of inclusive education, intercultural education, the development of the personality. Other matters for which we have a resource person, vector of change are: strategic management, European projects, projects to involve parents in the development of school, counseling and school orientation, teaching methodologies (interactivity, foreign languages, CLIL-type integrated teaching, ICT). Implementation of new procurement will be done through organizing the participants in groups working on areas of strategic development: "Strategic Development", "Incluzive Education" and "Teaching Methodology". These groups will work together with the methodical commissions, including systematic implementation activities in their operational plans.
The project is thought for two years because changes cannot be implemented, coordinated, monitored all at once, and each scroll is followed by a sequence of activities that requires up to six months per course including dissemination , demonstration of the new model, tutoring for colleagues who have not followed the course, the impact assessment. The last two months of the project will be reserved for the entire assessment and development program to develop a plan to ensure the project's sustainability in the coming years.
At the end of the project, we intend to have an enhanced institutional development plan, a coherent strategy to involve other stakeholders in the work of the school, at least one project for entrepreneurial education, diversified and improved project class management activities, extracurricular and optional subject offer in accordance to the needs of the beneficiaries, better use of T.I.C resources, grown satisfaction of the beneficiaries to the school offer.
