Hum@no - Professional Training System for Humanities Graduates
Hum@no will develop an added value, postgraduate-level training package for Humanities graduates to contribute to an increased take-up of employment and provide increased labour market access for the target group. The project will focus upon two primary areas, the increase of skills appropriate to the labour market for recently qualified Humanities graduates (to include increased ICT skills development) and development of an information platform to inform upon previous pathways to employment for similarly qualified graduates.Initial activity will be in the mapping out of the individual competencies of Humanities degrees in order to relate these to labour market demands, where gaps exist then additional credits will be designed to meet these, to enable easier insertion into the labour market. A pilot course will be developed to address the common needs of recent graduates in accessing employment.Analysis will be undergone as regards what the employment sector expects or demands from the target group and what actual employment possibilities exist, results will contribute to a virtual job opportunities map for Humanities graduates. The partnership will establish the Hum@no network to contribute to improving communication between education and enterprise in this sector and will further introduce a virtual professional observatory for recently qualified graduates to enable them to observe previous levels of labour market insertion for graduates having obtained this type and level of qualification in the past. All materials and products developed will exist in all partner languages (ES, EN, DE & IT) and will be output via a dedicated project website. Awareness raising of the results of the project are planned through both electronic (registration with relevant internet search engines) and traditional (circulation of information to relevant educational providers and national employment bodies) means.
