Aim of the Training Course "Human rights through art and creativity"(Banja Luka,Bosnia Herzegovina,20-29 November 2015)was to create an international educational process able to empower knowledge and competences on human rights education and education for democratic citizenship for 27 youth/social workers,peer educators,volunteers,youth leaders,young artists and trainers coming from 9 different European countries.The idea was to let them reflect on and promote human and social rights (global issues,free expression,education and culture,Children's rights,migrant/refugees and asylum seekers,employment) using different creative languages, techniques and tools (Puppets theatre, Comics and graffiti, Photography, Video and multimedia). Project wanted to answer in practical way to the educational/methodological needs directly expressed in the last years/projects by youth and social workers,educators,volunteers,associations and different institutions working with youth (schools,youth centres,etc.) to investigate and make easily understandable human and social rights and to enlarge the opportunities of social and cultural inclusion of Young People.As shown recently in Europe through the so called "migrant crisis",the Universal Declaration of Human Rights,and consequently the idea/perception that all humans are equal and have same rights in their life,appears to be among the least respected and applied worldwide even if it's one of the most signed on the planet.The possibility to look and interact with the society around,to exchange social backgrounds and point of view,to express their opinion and creativity,it represented a great inclusive opportunity for participants to empower their own role of citizen,to take back the flow and to express their opinions on society and social injustice,to fight youth discrimination and marginalisation,to stimulate their active participation in the decision making process,to contribute on field to the development of our communities.Objectives of the project were:to train youth workers,youth leaders,responsible of youth organisations,volunteers on the topic of Human and Social Rights through the use of artistic and creative tools;to enhance their knowledge and competences in the daily work they do to promote processes of social inclusion,active citizenship and personal development among those young people coming from disadvantaged and marginalised contexts;to improve in terms of quality the work that all partners realise in their local environment to affirm the respect for human and social rights;to have an European overview on good practices,strategies and activities realised in the different involved countries on the topic of fighting against marginalisation and exclusion of young people coming from disadvantaged conditions;to share results and outcomes of the project with the local community in order to aware/sensitise civil society and citizens on the thematic and topics of the project (human and social rights,inclusion of young people,creativity and artistic expression);to plan follow up measures to be realised both at local level,applying the competences acquired during the project (multiplying effect) and at international level through the Erasmus+ Programme in order to generate further possibilities of inclusion and involvement of young people.All the activities planned,from preparation till follow up,have been planned by the partner organisations with the support of the team of trainers.Activities of the project have been developed to guarantee the full involvement and the free expression of participants (learner centred) in an ongoing process in which all partners and participants had a role as much participative as possible.During all phases of the project were respected and applied the principles of non formal education:all the methodologies that were used (peer education,learning by doing,self-direct learning,debriefing and evaluations,intercultural education,clustering, etc.) and dynamics proposed have been designed to ensure the direct involvement of the participants at any time promoting freedom of expression, exchange and cooperation,interaction and creativity.During the project were realized icebreaker games,team building,NGOs Market,intercultural evening,show and tell session,practical workshops using different languages, techniques and tools,sharing activities with local community to present projects outcomes,sessions on future projects,several evaluation and assessment moments both practical aspects and fundamental contents.The entire project was coordinated by an international team composed by three facilitators/trainers coming from Belgium,Germany and Italy assisted by 2 support staff coming from Germany and Bosnia.The team of facilitators/trainers was in charge to switch on the communication among the partners and participants playing the double role of coordinator of the preparatory phase and resource persons for the activities.
