All participants of the project will be the youth gathered around partner organisations - total 20 young people with their leaders, including Poland.
The aim of the project is to acquaint young people with the problem of exclusion and discrimination, based on a group of Romanian Roma living in illegal camp in Wroclaw, Poland. Participants become familiar with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the European Convention on Human Rights and will be able to compare them to the actual situation of the excluded group, which will increase their awareness, mobilize and take the initiative, and thus affect the fight against social exclusion.
Participants will be introduced to the history and culture of the Roma, learn about the migration paths of the Roma and their situation in Europe, mainly in Poland. They will also learn about the differences between Roma - Polish citizens and migrants - Romanian Roma community residing lawfully in its territory as Europeans. At the end of the youth exchange, participants will organize initiative for children from the camp in the form of a picnic, which will be a way to break down stereotypes about the group and will be the form of inclusion in youth activities.
All planned activities will combine elements of non-formal education.
We hope that as a result of the project, we will plan the project supporting the education of Roma children.
