PROJECT
FINISHED
The project of John Paul’s II Zespół Szkół Ponadgimnazjalnych in Lipsko is called "Classy hotels are my chance!”.
Our school is known for successfully realised educational programms, therefore we would like to propose our students another interesting project within the Erasmus+ programme. Our project is addressed to our students in age 16-20, who learn a major which is called feeding and gastronomical service technician. It begins on December 12, 2014 and ends on June 30, 2016. It assumes that the students, who take part in an internship in two- or three-star hotels in Poland will have a chance to go abroad to Germany for the traineeship and learn practice in three- or four-star hotels. Raising of the hotel’s standards, where they will have their work practice, will contribute to the development of their vocational competences. Participants will learn how to work on the highest European level and will have an opportunity to develop themselves linguistically and socially. Thanks to the contact with German people they will communicate in German language with native speakers and function in a new environment. Thanks to the realization of the project our school will raise its meaning on a regional educational market and will offer young people better possibilities of education. The region will gain experienced employers with practical abilities connected with serving German customers with the highest expectations. An interest of our local entrepreneurs will contribute to the hiring of our alums what will directly help to prevent the high unemployment rate in our region.
28 participants take part in this project. They will go abroad for their work practice to the high standard hotels in 4 groups. The departure will be preceded by an intense preparation process. It will concern linguistic, mental and organisational preparations. Dates of the 4-week work internships are May 2015, July 2015, February 2016 and April 2016. Due to the trip to Dresden the participants will have a chance to get to know about the culture and history of Germany.
Only experienced partner institutions were chosen to this project. The list conveys 6 small and medium corporations. They are: John Paul’s II Zespół Szkół in Lipsko, Siegmundsburger Haus Werraquelle GmbH, Waldhotel Berghof, Göbels Hotel Aquavita, Göbel`s Hotel Quellenhof and Hotel Linderhof. The main German partner is Siegmundsburger Haus Werraquelle GmbH, which is an institution that coordinates the project in Thuringia, it has already signed an agreement about the cooperation with our school. Our school will take care of coordination in Poland. In hotels participants will have accommodation, maintenance and a substantive caretaker. They will have a chance to learn from the best specialists in their business. This project is based on the priorities concerning Erasmus+ programme and the Quality Commitment Training Placements which is a part of an agreement about the programme of the internship. It will be signed by the sides of the project and participants after its acceptance by the National Agency. After the practice the students will receive e.g. Europass Mobility and a certificate from the main partner SHW.
An involvement of an accompanying person is also envisaged in this project. It’s caused by the fact that majority of students is underage. Therefore the presence of the German or vocational teachers will enable them to raise their linguistic and professional qualifications. Such new activities and tasks which aim at preparation of the students to their departure will prevent the burnout of the teachers.
To make the benefits from the project influence on the large scale and on a long-term basis, the project will undergo a steady evaluation and its results will be widely popularised.
