The project’s objective is the implementation of a cross-border educational program, more specifically an adult educational program training animators and rural guesthouse catering workers in the agricultural vocational schools of Sellye and Osijek. The result to be achieved is the launch of the rural touristic innkeeper education supplemented by an eco-touristic animator module within the framework of adult education in the two vocational schools. Its long-term goal is to ensure the enforcement and role of economic interests in the training and to increase the value of the specialized knowledge on the labour market: guaranteeing competitive knowledge, increasing the chance of employment, supporting life-long learning and a swift and efficient reaction to the demands of the labour market. Achievements: The already existent co-operation among the three institutions was expanded and enhanced through this project working to create the basis for better employment of the disadvantaged border population. Supporting the life-long learning principle, the education centres developed a joint specialised training programme for service providers in tourism. By sharing information, skills and knowledge with people looking for employment in tourism, the project influenced the overall improvement of the tourism off er and the attractiveness of the region.
