Objectives of this project are based on the general objectives of the institution which are:to be recognized in Estonia and also internationally as an educational institution with a modern learning environment that provides training in the field of economic, management and social services and will also help raise public awareness of entrepreneurship and innovation, lifelong learning and conducts applied research in the curricula taught. Current project - the mobility of vocational learners -supports the general aims of the institution, and indirectly through the impact also serves society in general.The students involved in the projects are the students of the care worker curriculum, some of whom also work at the same time at health and social welfare institutions. Care worker curriculum in terms of the number of students is the smallest. In in the last three years the number of students varied from 27 to 36. Students are usually specialty of working people in their field, of whom 60% are between 30 and 50 years of age, under 30 years of age is 17%. 2/3 of the students are from the West-Viru County.This project is aimed at raising the professional competence, so we assume that the participants are successful in their studies and have shown interest to develop themselves professionally. The project aims to acquire professional learning and training experience in a different culture and to increase the competitiveness applying at the open labour market of the European Union,.For students who study the specialty of care worker there is no possibility due to economic reasons to perform training outside Estonia. The aim is to improve the ability to cope in an open European labour market and develop international communication skills. The students develops an hindsight while participation in the internship. The students gets an overview of methods used in the study process and also in conducting the practical training in Estonia and Latvia. The results and the participants Detailed action plan for the mobility has been worked out that can be in the future when getting additional new partnersWe have developed a strong partnership with the P. Stradins Medical College of the University of Latvia at the level of vocational training; An enlarged and strengthened activities that support the internationalisation of vocational education curriculaPurpose:• 20 students of the care worker curriculum have passed two weeks of practical training in a specialized institution in Latvia;• Future participants have developed professional and social English and Russian language skills to communicate with colleagues and clients;• The participants are acquainted with Latvian culture, health care system, and maintenance management, organizational culture, and the implementation of the principles of customer focus and perform maintenance functions.MethodThe Project manager will support the organization of the mobility (travel, insurance, accommodation, local transportation, meetings, cultural program, etc.) and cooperates with the partner institution in overall scheduling and agendas.A public competition for the selection of participants will be announced. Participants will be supported through the information delivery.The guidance and support of the participants is personal. Erasmus coordinator and the head of the chair ensure the correct documentation and substantive internships organization.Preparatory meetings are planned in cooperation with a foreign partner, contact person Aira Grauduma. The first meeting will take place at least one month before the start of the mobility of participants, and the second just before the start of or during the mobility.The impact of the project appears on the level of a student, university, community and nation. After the internship the student is more competitive on the European Union labour market. The partners have developed their own curriculum in Latvia and Estonia, and the analysis and comparison of operational activities in promoting the internationalization of the curriculum, the community will have an internationally experienced care worker. The country in general is affected by the project by supporting and promoting integration.As a result of the mobility the quality of education and cooperation with the West-Viru College of Social Work at the Chair. The level of cooperation between partner universities has increased as well as general competitiveness of the school.Mobility project will support the development of the West-Viru county, whose overarching goal is an educated, docile, active and affluent population in high-quality living environment. To ensure sustainable economic growth it is needed to provide adequate attention to the development of human resources, the quality of education, especially in the popularisation of lifelong learning;In the long term the mobility supports the internationalization and strengthening of partnerships with foreign countries.
