‘Hit That Jive’ is a long-term EVS project to host 2 volunteers for 12 months from Romania in Budapest, Hungary with the following aims:-to improve the key competences of participating volunteers ,the young members of local society and our staff by involving the volunteers into the work of our association-to enhance cultural dialogue between the Romanian volunteers and the young people of Újpest and Gyöngyös region-to improve social responsibility and the sense of solidarity of the volunteers by involving them into youth work activities with disadvantaged young peopleMETHODSWe aim to achieve the objectives by tapping the power of non-formal education, experiential methods, coaching and learning-by-doing. We plan a very diverse program for the volunteers. Besides of the work in our office, where they deal mainly with projects, we submitted a project of an afternoon school for disadvantaged youngsters, and we would involve the volunteers in this work too. Because of the shared work, the volunteers can improve wider range of competences and skills during the voluntary service. The volunteers will spend 1 day in language course, spend 3 days in our office involved in our youth information office located at the 4th district and 1 days in Gyöngyös in the afternoon school.Through participating in the mobility project, the volunteers are gathering knowledge and experience relevant on the labour market (e.g.:organizational skills, ICT skills, foreign languages, social, interpersonal competences). The impact on young people from the local society is also high due to the involvement of the volunteer into the events organized by the association.
